Job Description


The Office of Grants Administration serves to provide oversight in grants management and compliance, in order to promote effective stewardship of RIE funds managed by A.STAR as an Implementing Agency or as a Grant Intermediary.

The role of the Asst Manager/Manager/Senior Manager includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Secretariat duties for the grant schemes under Coordinating Offices, including running of grant calls, convening of evaluation panels and engagement of stakeholders.
  • Executing policies and processes pertaining to the administration of the grant schemes,
  • Communication of the grant schemes policies and processes to public sector research performers.
  • Liaising with grantees on pre and post award matters.
  • Ensuring proper submissions of progress reports to the Coordinating Offices for assessment.
  • Ensuring cash and budget utilisation is on track for awarded projects.
  • Building excellence in grants management through the development, refinement and implementation of best practices, within A.STAR and through working with other funding agencies

Requirements

  • Good tertiary degree
  • For Manager/Senior Manager roles, minimum 2 years experience in public sector governance/grants administration
  • Experience and/or keen interest in work related to governance and policy, especially in the research & development sector
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and systems thinking abilities
  • Proficient in basic data handling, processing and analysis.
  • Resourceful and independent
  • Able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
