Job Description

Assistant Manager (Legal), Strategy& Development / Manager (Legal), Strategy & Development

Specific Job Responsibilities may include the following:

  • Formulate and implement market development strategies, including collaborations and other opportunities in existing and potential new markets and sectors
  • Contribute to the planning, programming, and execution of SIAC's outreach events, courses and engagements in existing and potential markets and sectors in Singapore and overseas
  • Build and maintain relationships with SIAC's global stakeholders, including by developing and managing professional networks
  • Organise and manage visits, including conducting presentations and knowledge exchange sessions with international visitors and stakeholders
  • Undertake research (including statistical research) and the evaluation, assessment and analysis of trends and developments in international arbitration and global legal services market developments
  • Prepare SIAC's annual reports, press releases, newsletters, presentations, publicity and outreach materials, statistical reports, and other SIAC publications
  • Contribute to SIAC's thought leadership and the promotion of international arbitration by drafting and preparing academic or other materials for publication, and course materials for internal and external training programmes
  • Handle corporate communications matters, including managing correspondence with press and media
  • Undertake such Secretariat or case management related work as may be assigned
  • Prepare meeting materials and draft minutes and notes for various internal and external meetings, committees, and task forces
  • Provide legal research and other support where required
  • Undertake business travel as needed
  • Undertake such other work as may be assigned

Relevant Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Law Degree (LL.B. or equivalent)
  • Minimum of three years PQE or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Strong drafting and writing skills are required, with keen attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work across disciplines, and versatility in undertaking a wide variety of tasks
  • Proficiency in spoken and written business Mandarin Chinese is required for engagements with Chinese stakeholders
  • Experience in international arbitration would be an advantage
  • Strong data and statistical analysis skills would be an advantage
  • Policy, legal research, business development, and marketing experience would be an advantage
