Responsibilities:
- Perform in depth technical studies, analysis and investigation in the radio frequency (RF) domain proficiently e.g. cellular network coverage/performance audits & measurements, RF interference investigations & solutions, RF co-existence resolutions, RF radiation analysis etc.
- Perform on-site RF related tasks independently e.g. RF measurements and investigation; includes the engagement with other government bodies, mobile network operators, key partners, Members of Public etc.
- Planning and executions of National Events (NDP, SGP F1 etc.) in the RF domain to ensure the RF spectrums are threat-free and interference-free for wireless services to be operable
- Perform technical assessments on a wide array of wireless technologies in support of IMDA Licensing to ensure co-existence and interference-free environment in Singapore
- Able to be on 24/7 standby and if necessary, may be required to perform RF investigations during odd hours especially for time critical situations
- Oversees the operations and maintenance of IMDA's spectrum management/monitoring systems and RF equipment; includes the preparation of procurement contracts and coordination with external vendors
- Project managements on RF related projects including the project kick-off to the completion of acceptance tests, as needed
- Perform administrative tasks in support of the team and division's core functions, as needed
Requirements:
- Background in Telecommunications or relevant discipline with at least 5 years of experience OR diploma with more than 8 years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge in the RF domain and characteristics of the common RF systems e.g. cellular transceivers, UAV, radio links etc.
- Proficient in office productivity software etc.
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills
- Having a Class 3 driver's license is an added advantage
- A good team player that is pro-active, initiative, meticulous, responsible and positive regardless of challenges
This role will be hired into Singapore Network Information Centre (SGNIC) Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA)
