Job Description

Established in 1887, The Straits Trading Company Limited is a conglomerate-investment company with operations and financial interests in resources, property, and hospitality. These include majority or strategic stakes in Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad and Far East Hospitality Holdings. These holdings also include a diversified property portfolio and real estate investment that are wholly-owned.

We are looking for a driven, motivated and hands-on Assistant Manager, Finance.

Treasury Management

  • Work closely to support cash management and asset management activities.
  • Support foreign exchange and interest rate risk management

Corporate Finance

  • Support corporate finance initiatives
  • Assist in financial analysis and due diligence to support investment and asset management decisions.
  • Assist in reviewing cross-border transactions, where applicable.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Prepare and assist in reviewing annual budgets, business plans, and monthly forecasts
  • Provide insights and recommendations on asset and business strategies.

Accounting & Reporting

  • Oversee and review asset financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support local and overseas finance teams on appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Coordinate annual audits, statutory filings, and tax compliance matters for assets and overseas entities.
  • Support group consolidation and reporting requirements.

Overseas Tax & Transfer Pricing

  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and overseas finance teams on tax matters.
  • Support the preparation, review, and submission of tax filings for overseas subsidiaries.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of transfer pricing policies in accordance with applicable guidelines and local regulations.
  • Support transfer pricing documentation, intercompany agreements, and related-party transaction reviews.
  • Monitor international tax developments and assess their potential impact on the Group.

Others

  • Perform other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or other recognised accounting bodies) will be an advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant finance experience.
  • Working experience in the real estate or property developer industry is essential.
  • Big Four audit experience will be an advantage.
  • Exposure to cross-border operations, overseas tax, or transfer pricing will be an advantage.
  • Experience with Hyperion is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
