About the Role
Our client operates a residential care setting that supports youths from trauma backgrounds, providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment focused on recovery, stability, and long-term development. The Assistant Manager, Family & Youth Specialist (FYS) plays a key supervisory and operational role within the Home. Working closely with senior stakeholders and shift leaders, this position supports daily residential operations, staff development, discipline management, and compliance with MSF Standards of Care to ensure quality service delivery and team effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily residential operations and ensure adequate staffing coverage in line with MSF care ratios
Supervise, guide, and support FYS staff, including onboarding, training, performance feedback, and discipline matters
Review and approve staff rosters coordinate coverage for unplanned absences
Manage and escalate incidents, behavioural issues, and operational matters to senior management when required
Oversee resident discipline processes, including participation in and chairing discipline-related meetings
Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and compliance with internal SOPs and regulatory standards
Oversee medical administration processes, sick bay and safe room operations, and FYS-managed assets
Support planning, audits, reporting, and business continuity for FYS functions
Requirements
Minimum Diploma qualification (Psychology or related discipline is an advantage)
1-3 years of relevant experience in residential care, youth services, or social services
Experience working with vulnerable youths is preferred
Able to manage sensitive situations, documentation, and operational requirements effectively
Comfortable to support organisation-wide events or programmes on an ad-hoc basis, including weekends.
