Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, test, and maintain MECOMS functionalities to support business and operational requirements.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical specifications, solution designs, and system enhancements.
- Support customer onboarding, billing, payment processing, collections, metering, and market-related processes within MECOMS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system incidents, defects, and performance issues in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain integrations between MECOMS and upstream/downstream systems using APIs, middleware, databases, or file-based interfaces.
- Participate in system upgrades, patches, testing activities, and deployment exercises.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities and deliver automation solutions where appropriate.
- Perform root cause analysis for production issues and implement preventive measures to improve system stability.
- Support data migration, reconciliation, and validation activities during system implementations and enhancement projects.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system specifications, configuration guides, and operational procedures.
- Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity, governance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support and knowledge transfer to business users and internal support teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Information Technology, or related disciplines.
- Experience in enterprise application development, systems integration, or software engineering.
- Experience with MECOMS, utility billing systems, customer information systems (CIS), ERP platforms, or comparable enterprise applications would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
- Experience working with web services, APIs, system integrations, and middleware technologies.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and change management processes.
- Experience in system testing, defect management, and release deployment activities.
- Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as C#, Java, .NET, Python, or JavaScript would be advantageous.
- Experience in utility, energy, electricity retail, or billing operations environments would be advantageous.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and engaging business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, DevOps practices, and automation tools would be advantageous.
