Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Manager, Customer Insights & Analytics

Location: Singapore

Reports to: Head of Customer and Portfolio Development

Role Overview

As the Assistant Manager of Customer Insights & Analytics, you will turn raw data into actionable strategies. You will use various data sources, like retail metrics and internal CRM data, to understand consumer behavior. Your goal is to create clear stories from complex data that help grow our categories and strengthen retail partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Insights and Data Synthesis

  • Design and lead end-to-end consumer insight initiatives that convert customer behaviors, attitudes, and unmet needs into actionable commercial strategies by managing both quantitative and qualitative research programs, including surveys, interviews, and focus groups, to generate evidence-based recommendations that drive business growth.
  • Translate complex data analytics into compelling narratives, easy-to-read insight reports with clear business recommendations for Sales and Brand teams.
  • Build a robust system to understand customer needs, motivations, pain points, perceptions, and unmet demands across segments.
  • Analyze data from multiple sources (Mintel, NielsenIQ, Kantar, etc.) to understand the customer journey.
  • Turn technical data into simple visuals that explain market trends and suggest next steps.

2. Innovation & Future Needs Discovery- Retail & Category Growth

  • Perform need-state analysis and category reviews to reveal emerging demands, new growth opportunities in retail channels.
  • Help the Sales team with data-backed plans for better pricing and product placement.
  • Monitor category, competitor activity and market share shifts to proactively alert leadership of risks or opportunities.

3. Advanced Analytics & Dashboarding

  • Manage automated dashboards (Looker Studio or Power BI) to track key performance metrics.
  • Evaluate promotion effectiveness to ensure the best return on investment.
  • Use SQL or Python to segment customer data for targeted marketing campaigns.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Use data to represent consumer needs and validate new product ideas during innovation meetings.
  • Partner with IT and Data Engineering to ensure data integrity and the successful integration of new third-party data sets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Marketing, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in insights, market research, or commercial analytics. CPG or Retail experience is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in CPG data tools (Mintel/NielsenIQ/IRI/Kantar).
  • Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Index/Match, Power Query).
  • Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Looker).
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction is a strong plus.
  • Strong business sense, curiosity, and the ability to present ideas clearly to leadership.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms for lifecycle marketing analysis.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing and experimental design in a digital or retail environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and able to work collaboratively across teams.
