NIE invites suitable candidates to join the Office for Research (OfR) as an Assistant Manager, Communications (Research-Practice-Policy Group). OfR leads the way in driving impactful and future-ready research, development, and innovation. Building on the strengths of Singapore's world-class teacher education system and NIE's core excellences, OfR is recognised for advancing knowledge that transforms policy, practice, and learning outcomes in Singapore and globally. This is a 2-year contract position, or up till 31 Mar 2028, whichever comes first. The contract may be renewed depending on the individual's performance and the needs of the organisation.

We're looking for a dynamic and experienced individual with lots of ideas for and a good track record in corporate branding and events management. The applicant will be involved in ensuring the effective communication, dissemination and branding of OfR and its research to relevant stakeholders. This includes organising seminars, webinars and conferences as well as monitoring the effectiveness and impact of these efforts. The applicant will also be involved in managing OfR's social media accounts and the contents of the office's website, ensuring that they are consistently relevant and up-to-date. When necessary, the applicant will also be involved in editorial work such as writing and editing articles for dissemination purposes.

The applicant will report to the Unit Head, Research-Practice-Policy Group at the OfR.

Responsibilities

  • Support integrated marketing and communications efforts by working closely with departments to collate, curate and disseminate content institute-wide.

  • Manage and maintain the OfR website, ensuring content accuracy, timeliness, consistency and alignment with institutional branding guidelines.

  • Write, edit and proofread content for research publications and platforms, including , and research papers or reports.

  • Develop and coordinate content for OfR's quarterly e-newsletter, including drafting, editing and production support.

  • Conceptualise and implement content calendars and campaigns for OfR's social media platforms to strengthen engagement and visibility.

  • Develop and produce publicity materials and collaterals, including digital and print assets.

  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels, including website, social media, e-newsletters, print materials and presentation materials.

  • Manage and maintain the team's mailing lists, ensuring accuracy and compliance with data governance practices.

  • Provide basic video editing support and manage OfR's YouTube content and channel updates.

  • Plan, coordinate and support outreach events and activities that raise awareness of OfR and its research, including conferences, symposiums and hosted visits.

  • Assist in the preparation of event proposals and budgets, and liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure smooth execution.

  • Oversee end-to-end event logistics, including registration management, attendee tracking, venue coordination, presentation and materials support, and pre- and post-event evaluations.

  • Provide on-site operational, technical and administrative support to ensure events run smoothly.

  • Monitor event timelines and coordinate administrative and logistical tasks to ensure deliverables are met.

  • Update and maintain event information on the institute's shared events calendar.

  • Provide coordination support for initiatives under the School-Partnership Unit, including preparation of event materials and related documentation.

  • Support communications and documentation related to ERFP funding, including the preparation and consolidation of half-yearly reports.

  • Lead and coordinate the OfR website revamp, including content migration, stakeholder consultation and vendor liaison, where applicable.

  • Prepare presentation slides and briefing materials for senior management and high-level strategic meetings, where applicable.

  • Provide editorial support for OfR publications assigned by the Reporting Officer.

  • Undertake any other duties assigned by the Reporting Officer.

Requirements

  • A University Degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Social Science, Education or related field.

  • Excellent event organisation, interpersonal, communication and editorial skills.

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.

  • Highly motivated and independent, as well as a strong team player.

  • Able to problem-solve and work within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and managing parallel projects.

  • Integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.

  • Proficient in basic photography, Microsoft Office and Excel, Adobe Premium Pro, InDesign, Illustrator and Content Management System(s).

  • Advantageous if candidate is familiar with Singapore education and its development.
