Job Summary:

This position is responsible for handling cases in the Involved Line(s) of Business to ensure delivery of excellent claims services and efficient claims operation.

Involved Lines of Business:

Property and Onshore Construction

Job Duties:

. Review, evaluate, negotiate and resolve claims, within designated authority level, in line with established standards, procedures and guidance provided.
. Exhibit technical leadership, both internally and externally, on claims matter which Allied World participates.
. Identify, investigate suspicious / fraudulent claims and take appropriate actions and keep relevant
stakeholders closely informed.
. Market Allied World's claims capabilities through client meetings, presentations and seminars to Insured, Intermediaries, etc.
. Manage Insured/intermediary interactions in an efficient, courteous and timely manner in order to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction. This also includes handling and resolving any customer feedback or complaints.
. Organize and using approved internal and/or external suppliers to ensure appropriate and timely services are provided to customers.
. Proactively supervise and manage expenses of independent vendors and legal counsels for involved Line(s) of Business.
. Interact with relevant internal / external stakeholders to support and deliver business strategy.
. Ensure performance of periodic internal review of claim files including monitoring/pursuing of outstanding recoveries.
. Prepare reports or analysis where necessary regarding claims including large losses.
. Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and policy requirements internally and externally.
. Additional duties and responsibilities as warranted.
. In the future, recruit and manage further staff as necessary.


Essential Requirements:

. Relevant academic qualifications with a minimum of 7 to 10 years relevant claims experience.
. Preferably a holder or in progress of professional insurance qualification such as ANZIIF or ACII and meet minimum local mandatory qualification requirement.
. Experience of handling large, complex claims in the Involved Line(s) of Business.
. Knowledge of and experience in claims process improvements
. Demonstrate ability to work with a variety of constituencies, internally and externally, not limited to including claims management, policy holders, brokers, consultants, etc.
. Strong negotiating, analytical, written, organizational and communication skills.
. Good management and marketing skills
