Job Description
We are looking for an experienced individual that ensures all relevant financial transactions are accurately and completely recorded into the general ledger system on a timely basis and in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
Job Responsibilities
Scope of work includes the following: (i) Performs day-to-day accounting operations for Finance in relation to accounting processes, general ledger and reconciliation processes to prevent, detect and rectify so as to ensure accurate and complete financial data in accordance with prevailing accounting standards; (ii) Resolves unreconciled items within acceptable SLAs and follow up for long standing items; (iii) Prepares schedules (daily, weekly and monthly) which are not supported by any application systems; (iv) Analyses, understands and operationalize changes arising from changes in products and services, processes, systems or accounting standards. This includes setting up of accounting schema, operationalizing procedures, providing business requirements and system testing to ensure accurate accounting records. (v) Participates in automation initiatives to achieve a high level of operational efficiency and accuracy through intelligent use of technology for reconciliation, accounting computation, tax accounting and other accounting operations; and (vi) Participates in key initiatives of the unit, Group Finance and the Bank.

Job requirements: - Accounting qualifications or more than 4 years of relevant accounting operations experience in a commercial bank or audit experience - Good accounting knowledge with strong control mindset. - Understanding of reconciliation with overseas Nostro agents and correspondents, banking products and services, and technology enablers relevant to accounting operations - Possesses necessary interpersonal skills and effective communication, both verbal and written. - Ability to prioritise work to meet tight deadlines to achieve departmental and sector objectives.
