Job Summary
Carry out lab duties as delegated by the QA Manager
Job Responsibility
1. Responsible for sampling, inspection, testing and release of raw materials, in-process, and finished goods to ensure they meet technical specifications.
2. Receive, label and store samples with relevant safety & hazard information.
3. Review incoming Certificate Of Analysis compliance.
4. Maintains laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies and consumables for smooth operation of laboratory.
5. Responsible for the accuracy, integrity and reliability of laboratory test results generated.
6. Performs regular maintenance and calibration of lab equipment to ensure product testing is validated.
7. Execute all duties faithfully and responsibly in accordance to written procedures and to immediately report all observations of Quality and Safety non-conformances.
8. Ensure all activities are in continuous compliance with QEHSMS in designated areas of responsibilities.
9. Issue non conformity form to raw material suppliers for any non-compliance and ensure on-time closure of form.
10. Provide support and assistance in all internal & external audits.
11. Ensure the workplace 5S, safety and security compliance to safety regulations and company's safety standards.
12. Perform and assume other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the QA Manager
Requirements
1. Diploma/Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Material Science, or related discipline.
2. Minimum 1-2 years of laboratory/QA experience in paints, coatings, or chemical industry (fresh graduates may be considered).
3. Hands-on experience in paint and raw material testing.
4. Knowledge of international paint testing standards (ASTM, ISO, BS, or equivalent) is an advantage.
5. Familiar with calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
6. Ability to review and interpret technical specifications and Certificates of Analysis (CoA).
7. Good understanding of QEHSMS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and safety regulations related to chemical handling.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and capable of accurate data entry, reporting, and documentation.
9. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy and reliability of results.
10. Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate across departments and with suppliers/auditors.
11. Responsible, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
