About the Role
An established organisation in the retail / lifestyle industry is looking for an experienced Assistant HR Manager to oversee full-spectrum HR operations, payroll management, and employee relations. This role requires a hands-on HR professional who is comfortable managing a sizeable workforce in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Payroll
Handle full spectrum of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, and payroll processing
Review and ensure accuracy of monthly payroll (up to 300 headcounts)
Prepare payroll budgets and manage wage cost reporting
Conduct job evaluations and pay reviews recommend compensation structure improvements
Study, design and implement employee benefits programs
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
Manage end-to-end recruitment cycle including job postings, interviews, and onboarding
Conduct workforce planning to meet manpower requirements
Monitor recruitment statistics and turnover rates
Conduct exit interviews and provide retention improvement insights
Employee Relations & Compliance
Advise management on employment laws and HR best practices
Ensure compliance with statutory and labour regulations
Manage employee relations matters including grievances, discipline, and counselling
Review and update HR policies and procedures
Leadership & Reporting
Supervise and guide HR team members
Conduct performance evaluations and oversee daily HR workflow
Prepare HR analytics and regular management reports
Support staff engagement initiatives and productivity improvement programs
Submit claims and training grants to relevant government agencies
Participate in statutory surveys
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline
Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably in retail, hospitality, or FMCG industry
Experience managing payroll for large headcount environments (shift-based workforce preferred)
Strong knowledge of Singapore employment laws and statutory compliance
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
Experience with HRIS systems (BIPO or similar systems is an advantage)
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
Able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
