Assistant Engineer

As an Assistant Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the operational readiness of naval platform systems. Working closely with fellow engineers, Service Delivery Managers, and Project Managers, you will support the upkeep of onboard systems through hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, refurbishment, and equipment installation across vessels, workshops, and shipyards. You will have opportunities to be short-listed for short-term overseas attachment and training courses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Workshop Superintendent in maintaining naval systems at the highest availability and readiness levels.
• Perform maintenance tasks onboard vessels, in workshops, and at shipyards.
• Troubleshoot system defects and perform corrective actions.
• Carry out installation and removal of equipment and systems.
• Refurbish electronic units and assemblies to restore functionality.

Requirements

Academic Qualifications:

• NITEC or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related fields).
• Naval-related maintenance training certifications will be an added advantage.

Requirements & Skills:

• Solid working knowledge of RF, mechanical, electronics, and electrical systems on commercial and military vessels.
• Familiarity with maintenance regimes and basic troubleshooting down to card level.
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
• Capable of handling challenging customer interactions professionally.
• Willingness to work outdoors and onboard naval platforms.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
