About the Role

AVPN is seeking an experienced and purpose-driven Assistant Director - Technology to guide the organization through the next stage of its digital transformation. This is a key role responsible for strengthening AVPN's technology operations, ensuring our digital tools and data systems work seamlessly together to support collaboration, productivity, and growth.

The Assistant Director - Technology will serve as the central point of contact for all technology and digital operations - coordinating with internal tech champions, vendors, and teams across AVPN and providing leadership and oversight to Associate / Senior Associate to drive adoption, strengthening governance and operations, and embedding digital discipline into everyday work. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and sustain AVPN's broader technology vision, ensuring that systems remain secure, efficient, and continually evolving to meet organizational needs.

The role reports to the Digital Governance Board and works closely with functional teams across AVPN.

Responsibilities

1.Technology Operations & Governance

  • Act as the primary contact for all technology and digital operations coordinating user access, troubleshooting issues, and managing renewals across platforms such as Google Workspace, Salesforce, Airtable, Zoom, managing AVPN's DNS configuration and having oversight of office-level network administration and security.
  • Operationalize the Digital Governance framework, ensuring technology decisions, standards, and policies are applied consistently across the organization.
  • Maintain a register of digital tools and licenses, track and report on usage, cost and adoption metrics for AVPN's digital tools to identify areas for improvement.

2.Digital Ways of Working

  • Drive improvements in how AVPN teams collaborate, share information, and manage data across systems.
  • Work closely with tool admins, champions, and data stewards to promote effective use of tools and maintain good data and knowledge management practices with execution support from the Associate / Senior Associate where relevant.

3.Security & Compliance

  • Draft, update, and operationalize AVPN's data protection, IT and network security and digital governance policies in consultation with the Digital Governance Board, ensuring alignment with PDPA and global best practices.
  • Work with system admins, data stewards and champions to ensure compliance with policies and responsible use of technology and run periodic refreshers

4.Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and external service partners, acting as product owner for key digital tools to ensure clear priorities, accountability, and quality delivery.
  • Act as liaison between internal teams and vendors for troubleshooting, small enhancements, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with HR on onboarding, offboarding, and access management processes.

5.Adoption & Change Management

  • Lead adoption of IT & technology initiatives to improve operations and knowledge management
  • Build digital confidence across AVPN through training, documentation, and user engagement.
  • Track digital satisfaction levels and identify opportunities for simplification or improvement.

6.Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Provide clear direction, prioritisation, and coaching to the Associate / Senior Associate supporting the function.
  • Ensure strong execution discipline, documentation quality, and continuity across initiatives.
  • Build internal capability and succession within AVPN's digital operations and governance function.
  • Cultivate good relationships and coordination protocols with internal tech champions, vendors, and teams across AVPN

Requirements

  • 710 years of experience in IT operations, digital workplace management, or program management within multi-location team environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technology governance, vendor coordination, and digital adoption in multi-platform environments.
  • Strong familiarity with Google Workspace administration, Salesforce and Airtable (at least two of three platforms required).
  • Experience working with Agile or sprint-based project delivery methods, serving as a Scrum Master or Product Owner to manage backlog, prioritize work, and track sprint progress.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization and dashboarding tools such as Power BI.
  • Familiarity with no-code or low-code integration tools (e.g., Make) and preferably some experience with Google Apps Script and REST API integrations.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of data protection, cybersecurity, and responsible digital practices.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable (comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities), with strong attention to detail, willingness to learn and service orientation.
  • Preferred Locations: India (Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore), Indonesia (Jakarta) and Philippines (Manila)
