The Role:

Provide Nursing leadership, management and direction in regard to setting and maintaining quality standards, staff development and resource management in daily operation of the unit.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Set unit goals and objectives in consultation with clinical team.
• Responsible for induction process, competency assessment, staff learning needs and plans for nurses career progression.
• Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care and make appropriate changes in nursing care delivery.
• Facilitate reviews on occurrence reports and ensure plans are implemented to prevent future occurrences.
• Monitor budget and expenditure to ensure efficient and effective use of consumables.
• Plan schedule to ensure efficient use of adequate skill mix in proportion to patient acuity and census.
• Ensure that the system clinical policies and procedures are in line.
• Engage in systems level thinking and its application to a variety of situations and contexts.
• Provide leadership in the recruitment, selection, development and retention of nurses in partnership with the nursing team.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing, with Advanced Diploma / Post Basic in Perioperative / Perianaesthesia Nursing
• Must be a Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in a similar job position and department
