The Assistant Director is a key team member of the Accessible Education Unit of the University Wellbeing Office who specialises in special needs.
The incumbent leads a team of staff in developing initiatives to include students with diverse needs, thus making NTU an inclusive community. The incumbent will also act as a bridge between students, faculty, staff to support students with special educational needs.
Job Responsibilities:
Serve as Assistant Head and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accessible Education Unit, supporting the Head to spearhead strategic initiatives and continuously enhance support for students with special educational needs.
Overseeing complex student cases and guiding decisions on academic accommodations and support interventions.
Supporting the planning and implementation of inclusive education initiatives aligned with university strategies.
Engaging and collaborating with schools, faculty, and internal/external stakeholders to strengthen support for students with SEN.
Monitoring service delivery, analysing trends, and supporting reporting for continuous improvement.
Developing and reviewing policies, frameworks, and standard operating procedures to ensure effective and compliant practices.
Supervising operational processes and supporting the development of staff within the Accessible Education Unit.
Job requirements:
Hold a good degree from a recognised University, with postgraduate qualifications with relevant specialisation preferred.
Have at least 6 to 8 years of management experience which involves considerable interaction with students with special needs.
Prior experience in the tertiary education sector will be advantageous.
Demonstrate strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
Possess excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
