Job Description

The Undergraduate Programmes Office at Nanyang Business School is seeking an experienced and collaborative Assistant Director to lead academic matters within the Undergraduate Programmes Office. The role is central to ensuring effective academic programme planning, curriculum administration, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement in support of a high-quality student experience.

The successful candidate will work closely with school leadership, faculty, academic divisions, university offices, students and external partners to support the delivery and enhancement of NBS undergraduate programmes and related academic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:


Curriculum Planning, Forecasting, Programme Management and Development


  • Oversee course planning, forecasting, coordination and execution for NBS undergraduate programmes, the University Accelerated Pre-University Programme, inter-school collaborations and new academic initiatives.
  • Manage key academic administration matters, including Business major selection, Change of Programme and Change of Major processes.
  • Oversee the provision of curriculum planning advice to students, including matters relating to Broadening and Deepening Electives, MOOCs, minors and second major offerings.
  • Oversee student administration matters, including mid-term scholarships, awards and related academic processes.

Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development


  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with academic divisions, faculty, students, university offices, industry partners, professional bodies and external stakeholders.
  • Support collaborations with internal and external partners, including the development of work-study degree programmes, internships and industry-linked academic opportunities.
  • Serve as a key liaison on academic matters, facilitating communication, feedback and alignment across students, faculty, school leadership and university administration.

Academic Governance, Operations and Continuous Improvement


  • Work closely with the Associate Dean, Assistant Deans and Deputy Director to drive academic initiatives and operational priorities for the Undergraduate Programmes Office.
  • Contribute to the conceptualisation, development and implementation of academic initiatives, policies and guidelines to support sound governance and effective programme delivery.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of university academic initiatives, strategic plans and unit-level work plans.
  • Review, recommend and drive improvements to academic operations, including structures, systems, policies and procedures that support efficient and consistent programme delivery.
  • Provide supervision, guidance and development support to team members within the academic arm of the Undergraduate Programmes Office.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree from a recognised university, with at least 10 years of relevant working experience experience in the education or higher education sector would be an advantage.
  • Relevant experience in academic administration, programme management, curriculum planning, student administration or governance within an institution of higher learning would be advantageous.
  • Proven supervisory experience, with strong people management, mentoring and team leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, influence outcomes and collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality outcomes within timelines.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and resourceful, with the initiative to improve processes and respond effectively to changing priorities.
  • Meticulous and attentive to detail, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
