The responsibilities of this role are:
This role is required to lead the academic arm of the Undergraduate Programmes Office in the critical function of programme management and development, stakeholder engagement and support to Management:
Programme Management and Development
- Oversee planning, management, coordination and execution of the College's programmes, inter-school collaborations and new initiatives
- Oversee management and operations relating to course delivery, work-study, internship, exchange programmes, and study trips
- Oversee Business Streaming and administration of Change of Programme and Specialisation
- Manage the provision of curriculum planning advice to students (e.g., implications of using Broadening and Deepening Electives for MOOCS, reading minors and second major offerings, etc.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Support collaborations with other departments with a focus on developing partnerships with industry on work study degree progammes and internships
- Build relationships with academic partners, industry associations, and professional bodies
- Act as liaison between academic divisions, students, faculty, and university administration
- Engage and connect with stakeholders - serve as conduit for student, faculty and industry partner feedback on academic matters.
Support to Management
- Work with Associate Deans to drive academic initiatives and operations of the College Undergraduate Programmes Office
- Assist with the conceptualization, development and implementation of new academic initiatives, policies and guidelines for good governance
- Support the implementation and monitor the execution of University academic initiatives, strategic plans and work plans for the unit
- Review, recommend, and drive process improvements to academic operations in terms of structure, systems, policies and procedures that govern programme delivery
- Provide supervision, mentorship and development for the academic arm of the UPO team.
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
- A Bachelor degree from a recognized university with at least 8 years of relevant working experience, preferably in the education sector
- Prior experience in a relevant administrative role in an institution of higher learning will be advantageous
- Strong people management and leadership skills Supervisory experience is required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Self-motivated, resourceful and flexible in adjusting and responding to changing priorities
- Ability to work independently and as a team personal initiative and team spirit in the effective implementation of projects
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, multi-task and deliver with quality and timeliness
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, planning and organizational abilities
- Organised and meticulous with an eye for details
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
