(A)Job Summary:
The Assistant Design Manager (Civil - Tender) supports the tender and design team in preparing technical proposals, coordinating design works, and ensuring compliance with client and authority requirements. The role focuses on managing design deliverables, value engineering, and providing technical support to secure successful tender bids.
(B)Essential Job Functions:
The Assistant Design Manager (Civil - Tender) is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Assist the Design Manager in coordinating design activities and submissions for civil/infrastructure tender projects.
- Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to identify design scope and requirements.
- Support preparation of preliminary designs, calculations, and technical proposals for tender submissions.
- Assist in preparing method statements, design reports, and technical clarifications.
- Coordinate with consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors for design inputs, technical data, and clarifications.
- Contribute to value engineering studies to optimize design for cost efficiency and constructability.
- Ensure design compliance with codes, standards, and authority requirements (e.g., LTA, BCA, PUB).
- Support tender presentations and client clarifications when required.
- Track design deliverables, timelines, and documentation for tender records.
(C)Minimum Qualifications/ Job Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in civil/infrastructure design, with at least 2-3 years in tender support roles.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and civil/structural design software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, Civil 3D).
- Knowledge of local authority requirements (LTA, BCA, PUB).
- Able to work independently under tight tender deadlines.
- Candidates with LTA projects experience preferred.
