Join the Retail Credit team as an Approving Officer, partnering closely with Relationship Managers to review and approve programme loan submissions in line with Bank and MAS guidelines. Lead and mentor a team of Verification Officers, driving efficient processes and ensuring timely turnaround to support business momentum.

Job Responsibilities

  • Approve program loan (at level 1) put up by RSME sales, after ensuring that the verification officer has submitted the consolidated findings correctly.
  • Liaise with verification officer, relationship manager and/or Business Unit's manager on concerns/ findings.
  • Ensure loan applications are complied with bank and MAS rules & regulations.
  • Ensure end to end verification / approval complete within stipulated timeline.
  • Oversee the team's involvement in ad hoc/ digital projects.
  • Liaise with internal subject matter expert teams (e.g. Credit Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations) to obtain clarifications, approvals, and expert guidance for translation of business requirements into structured queries for specialist review. This also includes coordination of cross functional discussions to resolve risk, regulatory and policy-related matters.
  • Recommend initiatives to improve workflow.
  • Foster teamwork and maintain team harmony at work through facilitating team training, team bonding events and selection of new hires.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Finance/Accountancy/ Banking or equivalent as well as with some relevant credit experience.
  • Good understanding of RSME / SME loans process from origination to approval.
  • Good credit underwriting skills and able to make sound credit judgement.
  • Meticulous, eye for detail, able to think and work independently.
  • Able to do project work including read PDA, DHW, FS documents, good understanding and able to write PDA rules in Blaze, perform UAT and create checklists.
  • Good grasp of financial statements including P&L, Balance sheets, cashflow statements, Equity statements and have a good understanding of financial ratios and trends.
  • Able to liaise with internal stakeholders i.e. CPM, CMS, Compliance, Product team, RSME sales team, HP sales team, Project teams.
  • Able to work under stress, handle volume and with quick TAT.
  • Mature team player.
