An Assistant Cook supports the head chef or main cook in preparing meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. This role is essential for keeping food preparation efficient and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing ingredients (washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
- Help cook basic dishes under supervision
- Follow recipes and instructions from the head chef
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, utensils, and work areas
- Store food properly and check freshness of ingredients
- Assist in plating and presentation of dishes
- Clean dishes, kitchen equipment, and surfaces
