About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will support the Head Chef and cooks in daily food preparation, maintaining a clean work environment, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to build foundational culinary skills in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of ingredients (washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping).
Prepare simple dishes, salads, and appetizers according to established recipes.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas, including workstations, equipment, and utensils.
Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items to follow health and safety standards.
Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries.
Follow all kitchen safety procedures and health department regulations.
Support the dishwashing station as needed during peak hours.
Perform other tasks as directed by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
Schedule:
Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
No formal culinary degree required previous experience in a restaurant, caf, or fast-paced kitchen environment is a plus.
A strong interest in food and a desire to learn and develop culinary skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently as part of a team.
Reliable, punctual, and possesses a positive, hard-working attitude.
Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
