Job Summary
The Assistant Chef supports the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and ensuring high-quality standards. The role is vital in maintaining smooth kitchen functions and compliance with Singapore food hygiene and workplace safety requirements .
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and plating dishes.
- Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines set by the Head Chef.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness in compliance with NEA / SFA food hygiene standards .
- Assist in stock management, storage, and kitchen inventory checks.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any faults.
- Train and guide junior staff and kitchen assistants.
- Step in to support or cover for the Head Chef when required.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and grooming.
- Ensure safety and hygiene compliance under Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) standards .
