The National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting one full-time staff to be jointly appointed in the Lloyd's Register Foundation Institute for the Public Understanding of Risk (IPUR) and the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH). The position is on a research or practice track appointment. In addition to an attractive salary and benefits package, new faculty members may be eligible for a start-up grant to initiate their independent stream of research. Candidates relocating to Singapore may be eligible for subsidised university accommodation. The candidate will be appointed as Lead Scientist at IPUR for its Health and Lifestyle research pillar.

Research Track Candidates:
Candidates will need to show a strong commitment to publishing at the highest level and a record of research excellence in theoretically sound, empirically grounded, and policy-relevant research. Applicants whose research and writing focus on risk communication in Asia will have an advantage.
Practice Track Candidates: Candidates should have 3 years or more experience at a senior management level in government, the private sector or media in the analysis and communication of safety and risk.
Impact and Engagement: Applicants should be keen to engage with policy-makers and scholarly communities in Asia and around the world, producing and communicating work that has an impact on the important questions and problems that confront Asia and the contemporary world. IPUR and SSHSPH have a dedicated media team to augment and extend the reach of research to policy-makers and the general public.
