Job Description:
Responsible for ensuring financial reporting integrity, control effectiveness, and tax compliance across multiple international entities (Abu Dhabi, London, Singapore).
Accounting & Reporting
Review and approve key financial transactions, journals, and reconciliations.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
Perform monthly reviews of sales and purchases transactions, reconciliations, and mark to market (MTM) valuations.
Review AR/AP aging, fixed assets, and lease schedules.
Oversee and ensure timely month-end closing and reporting processes.
Tax Compliance
Coordinate tax compliance across jurisdictions (e.g. VAT, corporate tax) for Abu Dhabi and London offices.
Work closely with external advisors on filing and reporting.
Coordinate transfer pricing and regulatory compliance requirements.
Liaise with head office accounting and tax departments on any accounting & tax related matters.
Controls & Audit
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting deliverables.
Review and guided work of Accounts Executives, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
Lead account team in system improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timely milestones, and cross-functional coordination for seamless execution.
Identify and escalate financial or compliance risks.
Strengthen internal controls and identify process improvement opportunities.
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and controls.
Ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
5-8 years of relevant working experience (accounting and/or tax) and preferably for commodities trading /oil and gas industry.
Experience in multi-entity or regional environment preferred.
Exposure to trading / commodities /oil & gas is an advantage.
Good technical knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards will be an advantage.
Prior supervisory or team lead experience is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.
Good understanding of tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Proficient in Microsoft Offices esp. Excel, Power Points and accounting systems (SAP/EXACT preferred).
