Job Description

Job Description:
Responsible for ensuring financial reporting integrity, control effectiveness, and tax compliance across multiple international entities (Abu Dhabi, London,Singapore). This is a review and control-focused role with minimal involvement in transactional processing.


Accounting & Reporting

  • Review and approve key financial transactions, journals, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Perform monthly reviews of sales and purchases transactions, reconciliations and mark to market (MTM) valuations.
  • Review AR/AP aging, fixed assets, and lease schedules.
  • Oversee and ensure timely month-end closing and reporting processes.

Tax Compliance

  • Coordinate tax compliance across jurisdictions (e.g. VAT, corporate tax) for Abu Dhabi and London offices.
  • Work closely with external advisors on filing and reporting.
  • Coordinate transfer pricing and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with head office accounting and tax departments on any accounting & tax related matters.

Controls & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting deliverables.
  • Review and guided work of Accounts Executives, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Lead account team in system improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timely milestones, and cross-functional coordination for seamless execution.
  • Identify and escalate financial or compliance risks.
  • Strengthen internal controls and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and controls.
  • Ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
  • 5-8 years of relevant working experience (accounting and/or tax) and preferably for commodities trading /oil and gas industry.
  • Experience in multi-entity or regional environment preferred.
  • Exposure to trading / commodities /oil & gas is an advantage.
  • Good technical knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards will be an advantage.
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience is an advantage.
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.
  • Good understanding of tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong analytical, review, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and sense of accountability.
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Offices esp. Excel, Power Points and accounting systems (SAP/EXACT preferred).
