Job Description:
Responsible for ensuring financial reporting integrity, control effectiveness, and tax compliance across multiple international entities (Abu Dhabi, London,Singapore). This is a review and control-focused role with minimal involvement in transactional processing.
Accounting & Reporting
- Review and approve key financial transactions, journals, and reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
- Perform monthly reviews of sales and purchases transactions, reconciliations and mark to market (MTM) valuations.
- Review AR/AP aging, fixed assets, and lease schedules.
- Oversee and ensure timely month-end closing and reporting processes.
Tax Compliance
- Coordinate tax compliance across jurisdictions (e.g. VAT, corporate tax) for Abu Dhabi and London offices.
- Work closely with external advisors on filing and reporting.
- Coordinate transfer pricing and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Liaise with head office accounting and tax departments on any accounting & tax related matters.
Controls & Audit
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting deliverables.
- Review and guided work of Accounts Executives, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Lead account team in system improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timely milestones, and cross-functional coordination for seamless execution.
- Identify and escalate financial or compliance risks.
- Strengthen internal controls and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and controls.
- Ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
- 5-8 years of relevant working experience (accounting and/or tax) and preferably for commodities trading /oil and gas industry.
- Experience in multi-entity or regional environment preferred.
- Exposure to trading / commodities /oil & gas is an advantage.
- Good technical knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards will be an advantage.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience is an advantage.
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles.
- Good understanding of tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong analytical, review, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and sense of accountability.
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Offices esp. Excel, Power Points and accounting systems (SAP/EXACT preferred).
