Job Description

General Responsibilities

  • supporting in managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.

  • reviewing and analysing accounting transactions to produce timely and accurate financial reports for management and tax reporting.

  • assisting and supporting on implementing proper accounting methods that comply with applicable accounting standard.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare accurate monthly reporting package and management reports, timely report to Senior Manager for review.

  • Perform variance analysis against budget and prior year.

  • Identify risks and opportunities and recommend corrective actions.

  • Review reconciliations, monthly journal entries (accruals, depreciation, adjustments).

  • Review reasonableness of revenue and expenditure.

  • Review bank reconciliations.

  • GL and sub-ledger reconciliations.

  • Maintain proper fixed assets register and ROU schedules.

  • Reconcile inventory physical count and adjustments.

Compliance & Tax

  • Assist in maintaining proper records that meet regulatory requirements.

  • Support annual audit and financial statements preparation.

  • Support Senior Manager to co-ordinate with auditor and tax agent in completing annual audits and tax filings.

  • Prepare timely and accurate GST quarterly report.

  • Perform GST reconciliation between GST quarterly report and financial system.

  • Support in managing corporate secretarial matters in compliance with Companies Act and ACRA requirements.

Finance Operations

  • Supervise the accounting department -accounts payable/receivable/ general ledger in closing monthly and year-end process.

  • Provide guidance to accounting team on daily operational issues and challenges.

  • Review and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for operations.

  • Ensure efficient payment processes and proper expense control aligned with Company policies.

Other duties

  • Assist to Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.

  • Assist in system enhancement, including redesign of workflows and processes based on best practices and automation.

  • Identify financial and accounting related issues and work with relevant departments on their resolutions.

  • Work closely with the Senior Finance Manager to achieve departmental goals.

  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree's qualification or its equivalent.

  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience.

  • Proficient in an accounting software (Business Central) or other accounting ERP software.

  • A meticulous and detailed person who has good interpersonal skills.

  • 5 days work week with 44 hours per week.
