Brief Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Accountant who excels in both independent and collaborative settings. This role offers the chance to enhance financial and sustainability expertise within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete set of accounts for assigned subsidiaries, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets. Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions monthly. Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and generate reports on cash movements and fixed deposit placements. Ensure timely preparation of tax computations and compliance with filing requirements. Prepare and submit quarterly Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns. Liaise with external auditors to prepare statutory financial statements for managed entities. Generate accurate quarterly financial reports in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Coordinate and prepare annual budgets and forecasts for the assigned entities. Provide ad-hoc administrative and finance support as needed. Assist with internal and external audits, and sustainability reporting as required. Collect, validate, and analyze data related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. Support compliance with regulations and standards regarding sustainability disclosures. Aid in the execution of sustainability initiatives and engage with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field, or a recognized professional accounting qualification. Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, taxation, GST requirements, and regulatory obligations. Minimum 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience, including full-set accounting and financial reporting experience in the real estate sector is advantageous. Demonstrated interest in sustainability issues and a commitment to developing knowledge in sustainability reporting and regulations. Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team, while balancing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
