Assistant Accountant

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT - MANUFACTURING & COST ACCOUNTING

Location:East Singapore

Full-Time Position

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our growing food manufacturing business.

This is a hands-on accounting and costing role. We are looking for someone who can manage the full set of accounts while also helping the company establish and monitor a proper manufacturing cost accounting system.

Key Responsibilities

. Handle full set of accounts independently.

.coordinate exercise of the yearly financial projection accross different departments and cash flow forecast.

. Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports and conduct analysis to identify major deviation from yearly budget for timely action.

. Manage AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation and month-end closing by 10th of each month.

. Set up and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM).

. Develop and maintain product costing covering raw materials, packaging, labour and overheads.

. Monitor actual manufacturing costs against standard costs.

. Analyse production cost variances, wastage and yield.

. Monitor inventory and raw material costs.

. Work closely with production and purchasing teams on costing and cost control.

. Handle Malaysia tax, SST and statutory accounting matters for our new Malaysian operation

. Maintain and improve accounting/ERP systems and processes.

Requirements

. Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

. 3-5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.

. Able to handle full set accounts independently.

. Practical experience in BOM, product costing and manufacturing cost accounting.

. Good knowledge of Malaysia accounting and taxation requirements.

. Familiar with Malaysian accounting/ERP systems.

. Strong Excel and analytical skills.

. Independent, hands-on, meticulous and commercially minded.

The ideal candidate

We are not looking for someone who only records transactions.

We want someone who can understand how our products are made, calculate what they really cost to produce, monitor manufacturing margins and help management control costs.

Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG or other production environments will be an advantage.
