Role Overview
We are seeking an agile, analytical Carbon Projects Asset Manager to oversee the operational, technical, and financial performance of a global portfolio of carbon assets. Reporting to the Head of Asia & Asset Management, you will ensure that investments achieve their original objectives and deliver high-integrity value to clients.
This is a high-impact, foundational role focused initially on Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) removals. You will act as the bridge between technical science, financial investment, and on-the-ground project development to drive portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Performance & Delivery
- Monitor the lifecycle of carbon project assets to ensure timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
- Track financial performance against investment models, managing budgets and identifying variances.
- Optimize asset value through proactive operational management and delivery risk mitigation.
Project Oversight & Risk Management
- Identify, assess, and manage technical and operational risks across the NBS portfolio.
- Oversee project implementation milestones, including monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) cycles.
- Ensure compliance with global standards, registries, and safeguard frameworks (e.g., FPIC).
Technical & Quality Coordination
- Collaborate with Science and Strategy teams to resolve project bottlenecks and technical hurdles.
- Work closely with partner developers to strengthen project quality and issuance readiness.
- Utilize GIS, remote sensing, or dMRV data to enhance transparency and performance tracking.
Stakeholder & Commercial Support
- Provide technical and operational input to the Trading and Sales teams for client reporting.
- Manage relationships with project partners, auditors, and external counterparties.
- Translate complex project data into clear, concise performance updates for internal leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Ecology, Finance, or Engineering.
- Experience: * 7–10 years in asset management, project operations, or infrastructure (Real Assets/Renewables).
- 3–5 years specifically in carbon or environmental markets, with a focus on project delivery.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the carbon credit lifecycle, methodologies (Verra, Gold Standard, etc.), and market integrity frameworks.
- Analytical Skills: High proficiency in Excel; ability to interpret financial models and their relationship to operational outcomes.
- Tools: Experience with project management software (e.g., Asana) and G-Suite. Familiarity with GIS or dMRV systems is a plus.
- Communication: Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills, capable of bridging the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.
