About the Role
The Lead of ESG Intelligence is responsible for leading, growing, and positioning Eco-Business's across the region. This includes oversight of research, advisory, training, and sustainable finance-related services, and accountability for the performance, credibility, and market relevance of the Intelligence unit.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a manager role with commercial, advisory, and people-management responsibilities. The role requires an individual who can combine strong ESG and/or sustainable finance expertise with strong client leadership, product thinking, and regional market insight.
The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping Eco-Business's next phase of growth - strengthening its position as a trusted intelligence partner to financial institutions, corporates, policymakers, and professional services firms across Asia-Pacific.
This role involves some level of travelling, especially in the Asia Pacific region.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Client advisory, thought leadership & external engagement
- Provide senior-level leadership on key client engagements, ensuring high standards of analytical depth, relevance, and execution
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients across financial institutions, corporates, public sector bodies, and professional services firms
- Lead client discussions, briefings, and advisory sessions where strategic judgement and regional insight are required
- Shape and represent Eco-Business's external thought leadership, contributing to flagship reports, briefings, and commentaries
- Present at, moderate, or curate industry dialogues and Eco-Business-hosted events
- Support Eco-Business's external engagement and social media presence through authoritative, insight-driven contributions
2. ESG training & capability-building programmes
- Lead the design and delivery of ESG training and capability-building programmes tailored to Asia-Pacific public and private sector needs
- Develop scalable training offerings covering themes such as ESG fundamentals, climate risk, transition planning, disclosure, governance, and implementation
- Work with regional partners, institutions, and clients to ensure training programmes are practical, policy-relevant, and market-aligned
- Support the evolution of Eco-Business's training portfolio into a scalable, high-quality regional capability-building platform
3. Internal team collaboration
- Work closely with the Editorial, Events, Partnerships, and Marketing teams to ensure coherence across content, intelligence, and commercial activities
- Support and mentor Intelligence team members, providing guidance on project delivery, research quality, and client engagement
- Contribute to internal strategic initiatives and organisational development as required
Skills & experience
- At least 8 years experience in ESG, sustainable finance, sustainability consulting, research, or a related field
- Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, climate and transition risk, sustainable finance, and Asia-Pacific market dynamics
- Proven experience leading complex client engagements and managing senior stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear insights
- Experience operating in a commercial environment, including business development and proposal leadership
- Strong client management and people skills
- Comfortable representing an organisation publicly through events, media, and thought leadership
This role is based in Singapore, and candidates should ideally be based in Singapore with a residence permit. All shortlisted applicants will be required to do a writing and presentation test.
