Asia Equities Strategist/Squawker - Singapore

Do you have an eye for the news that matters for markets, the skill to interpret what it means for traders and the ability to clearly deliver that information quickly

We're looking for a stock market strategist/squawker to join our Asia Equities Team. You will translate news into money by converting corporate announcements, news scoops, analyst notes, geopolitics, monetary policy and economics into actionable markets insights. You will also broadcast over our audio squawk channel and contribute written technical and fundamental analysis on equities, collaborating with our team of journalists, strategists and editors on the team. We will expect you to use your contacts and knowledge to keep your finger on the pulse of what most interests our terminal clients.

The position requires a keen grasp of global and Asia equity markets from both a macro and single-name perspective, and the ability to instantly recognize news that has the potential to move both individual stocks, sectors as well as major indexes. Candidates must possess excellent spoken and written English, with a clear, confident voice and the ability to write accurately and concisely in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will also produce a daily market color column.

We'll trust you to:

• Exercise excellent news judgment and the ability to distinguish accurate sources of news and data amid a social-media environment awash in disinformation and inaccuracies.
• Broadcast relevant headlines and insightful market updates over our squawk audio channel to an audience of thousands of market professionals.
• Produce well-written and actionable market analysis in various formats. Identify the catalysts that are moving stocks or have the potential to move them and alert the audience to them before fleeting trading opportunities are gone.
• Have a strong work ethic, competitive instincts, skills at multitasking and an ability to operate calmly under pressure.

You'll need to have:

• At least 5 years of recent experience covering Asia Equities as a trader, research analyst, markets strategist, portfolio manager or as a financial journalist/news analyst role
• Proven experience writing or broadcasting in English about Asia Equities markets via published research material or distributed daily commentary
• Extensive experience collaborating across global teams
• Fluency in both spoken and written English
• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
• Bachelor's degree or degree-equivalent qualifications

We'd love to see:

• Familiarity with Bloomberg terminal functions, quantitative finance, data analytics and some Python coding experience a plus.
