Job Description

Our client, a well-known Japanese company is currently looking for a ASEAN New Territories Commercial Head.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies for new markets in ASEAN.
  • Supervise Sales and Marketing teams based in Singapore and Malaysia, with an aim to extend oversight to Vietnam and the Philippines.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and operational support to commercial teams in newly established subsidiaries.
  • Drive business development initiatives and customer acquisition efforts.
  • Manage commercial operations for a diverse portfolio of prescription pharmaceutical products.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities while building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor business performance, prepare budgets, and forecast financial outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with local market regulations and collaborate with other departments to enhance the customer journey.
  • Support the establishment and growth of new subsidiaries by overseeing hiring, onboarding, training, and compliance setup.
  • Collaborate with country managers, medical affairs, regulatory affairs, supply chain, and marketing teams to facilitate market entries and sustainable growth.
  • Promote cross-border synergies and share best practices among subsidiaries.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc, PhD) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial leadership roles within the pharmaceutical industry in the ASEAN region, with regional leadership experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of successful pharmaceutical product launches, sales growth, and market access across ASEAN countries.
  • Strong understanding of the ASEAN business environment and local healthcare regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to manage and lead international teams.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and a strong compliance mindset.
  • Strategic thinking and financial analysis skills, with the ability to communicate across cultures.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the ASEAN region.
