AS400 developer

1 yr renewable contract

Salary: Up to 8000 SGD (Depending upon experience and skills)

Job Overview:

We are seeking an 5+ years of experienced AS400 Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have solid experience working with RPG, CL/400, RPGLE, DB2400, and IBM MQ services. This role requires both development and support responsibilities for mission-critical applications and systems on the IBM i platform. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of IBM App Connect Enterprise(ACE), AIX, and Windows operating systems, which will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain AS400 applications using RPG, RPGLE, and CL/400 programming languages.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both development and production environments related to AS400 systems.
• Design and implement efficient and scalable database structures in DB2400.
• Integrate IBM MQ services to support messaging solutions and ensure the smooth communication between applications.
• Knowledge of MQ journal receiver.
• Knowledge of ROBOT product.
• Provide technical support to business users and ensure minimal downtime for AS400-based applications.
• Work with the team to gather requirements and implement solutions that meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system performance and implement new features.
• Participate in the monitoring and maintenance of AS400 applications, including backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Provide on-call support as required, ensuring systems are running smoothly and resolving any urgent issues promptly.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in AS400 development with expertise in RPG, RPGLE, CL/400, DB2400, and IBM MQ services.
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience in debugging AS400 systems and applications.
• Familiarity with IBM App Connect Enterprise.
• Knowledge of AIX and Windows operating systems is desirable.
• Experience with supporting and maintaining production environments.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
