Job Overview:
We are seeking an 3+ years of experienced AS400 Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have solid experience working with RPG, CL/400, RPGLE, DB2400, and IBM MQ services. This role requires both development and support responsibilities for mission-critical applications and systems on the IBM i platform. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of IBM App Connect Enterprise(ACE), AIX, and Windows operating systems, which will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and maintain AS400 applications using RPG, RPGLE, and CL/400 programming languages.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both development and production environments related to AS400 systems.
Design and implement efficient and scalable database structures in DB2400.
Integrate IBM MQ services to support messaging solutions and ensure the smooth communication between applications.
Knowledge of MQ journal receiver.
Knowledge of ROBOT product.
Provide technical support to business users and ensure minimal downtime for AS400-based applications.
Work with the team to gather requirements and implement solutions that meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system performance and implement new features.
Participate in the monitoring and maintenance of AS400 applications, including backup and disaster recovery procedures.
Provide on-call support as required, ensuring systems are running smoothly and resolving any urgent issues promptly.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in AS400 development with expertise in RPG, RPGLE, CL/400, DB2400, and IBM MQ services.
Strong problem-solving skills and experience in debugging AS400 systems and applications.
Familiarity with IBM App Connect Enterprise.
Knowledge of AIX and Windows operating systems is desirable.
Experience with supporting and maintaining production environments.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
