Full-Stack AI Engineer

The Role

Join Ultima as we build our AI practice from the ground up. We're seeking an entrepreneurial full-stack engineer who can architect, develop, and showcase AI-powered solutions for our clients. You'll have the autonomy to shape our AI strategy, create proof-of-concepts, and deliver high-impact demonstrations to both internal teams and enterprise customers.

Ultima is evolving beyond traditional DevOps and cloud infrastructure to lead the AI transformation within managed services. As our Full-Stack AI Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of this shiftworking directly with stakeholders across marketing, technology, and engineering to build intelligent solutions that deliver measurable business value. This role blends the creativity of rapid prototyping with the discipline of production-grade engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop end-to-end AI applications from concept to deployment
• Build rapid proof-of-concepts using modern AI tools and frameworks
• Deliver compelling technical demonstrations to internal teams and enterprise clients
• Architect scalable AI solutions that integrate with existing client platforms
• Create intuitive, responsive frontend interfaces for AI-powered applications
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to deploy AI solutions on cloud infrastructure
• Establish best practices for AI development, testing, and deployment within our MSP practice

About You

You likely come from a software consultancy or product-engineering background and are excited by the opportunity to shape an AI practice from its earliest stages. You may be a full-stack developer with strong frontend skills and a growing passion for AI. Above all, you bring an entrepreneurial mindset, the ability to operate autonomously, and a desire to demonstrate what's possible with modern AI tooling.

Core: React.js, Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, Python, REST APIs, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, Git

AI & Automation: AI IDEs (Cursor, Windsurf, Kiro), n8n workflow automation, LangChain, OpenAI API, Claude, prompt engineering

DevOps & Cloud: AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines

Nice to Have: Agile methodologies, TDD, state management (XState, Flux), Storybook, ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), Kubernetes, Azure, GCP, Terraform
