Art Producer (Illustration & Animation), Contract

Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and creatively-minded Art Buyer / Creative Producer to join our APAC team. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to thoughtful and innovative content and design initiatives by partnering with, commissioning, and curating exceptional art, illustration, animation, and other visual design work.

This role is crucial for bringing external creative visions to life, ensuring our projects are visually compelling and executed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

. Creative Commissioning & Production:
◦ Partner closely with internal designers and art directors to understand project needs and identify suitable external illustrators, animators, and visual artists.
◦ Manage the end-to-end commissioning process from concept to final delivery, including artist research, outreach, negotiation and selection.
◦ Actively stay engaged with the global art, and design industries to discover emerging talent and build relationships with agencies.

. Negotiation & Contracts:
◦ Negotiate scope, usage rights, terms, and costs with artists and their agents to ensure fair agreements and budget.
◦ Understand and execute Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), contracts, and become deeply familiar with the legal terms and usage associated with commissioned artwork.

. Project Management
◦ Maintain an accurate and detailed project status tracker for all live art buying projects (potentially 15+ time).
◦ Maintain and update internal artist databases and resources, making it easy for the team to access information and templates.
◦ Identify recurring inefficiencies in current processes and proactively suggest improvements to streamline workflows.

. Communication & Collaboration:
◦ Serve as a clear, calm, and steady communicator, effectively bridging the gap between internal teams and external creative talent.
◦ Work collaboratively across different time zones and with a diverse group of team members, fostering a positive and productive environment.

- Actively support and guide internal art directors to creatively problem solve for their needs, anticipating potential problems before they rise.

Requirements:

. Experienced in Creative Production: You have a deep interest in illustration, design, animation, and typography, coupled with proven experience in commissioning commercial art or managing creative production projects.

. Organised & Detail-Oriented: You genuinely enjoy bringing order to complexity, take pride in keeping things organised and up-to-date, and find satisfaction in making processes efficient.

. A Skilled Negotiator: You are comfortable with financial negotiations and understanding contractual agreements related tocreative work.

. Adaptable & Resilient: You can comfortably juggle multiple projects, prioritise effectively, and maintain a calm demeanour when working under pressure or navigating ambiguity.

. Proactive & Resourceful: You are adept at anticipating change, reacting efficiently, and proactively seeking out new talent and industry trends.

. A Good Communicator: You excel at clear, concise communication, both written and verbal, and are a true team player.

. Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using design tools like Photoshop and Keynote for presentation support.

. Discreet: You handle confidential materials and sensitive issues with the utmost discretion.
