About the Company: Factor is a digital creative agency founded in sunny Oakland, California, with a client roster including Google, Brex, Coinbase, Waymo, Shopify, and more. Our shop was founded in 2013 by two creative directors who sought to build an agency run by creatives, with a singular focus on stunning creative work. From our humble beginnings — two creatives at a kitchen table — we've grown into a 150-person team that designs beautiful interactive experiences and marketing campaigns for a vast range of brands including Google Photos, Google Maps, and many more. We've built a highly diverse, inclusive, nonhierarchical culture where people are valued and celebrated, work-life balance is respected and egos are left at the door. In July 2023, we joined forces with Virtusa, a leading global technology services provider trusted by a wide range of Fortune 100 companies. The blend of our creative expertise and Virtusa's engineering capabilities now allow us to offer truly integrated marketing solutions to our clients.

- Creative Vision and Direction: Drive the creative vision from the art and design perspective, often elevating or refining the conceptual thinking of their creative partners (like external agencies)
- Creative & Campaign Ideation: Generate big ideas and campaign concepts that are culturally relevant and industry-defining for the region.
- Campaign Platform Concepting: Serve as the creative authority for brand campaigns, translating customer stories into a cohesive platform vision that can help guide agency partners and regional adaptations.

- For anticipating the next year's vision, requiring referencing past work and net-new concepting and design
- Vendor Management and Brand Stewardship: Managing relationships with vendors to ensure they adhere to brand guidelines and don't veer too far off-brand, often providing close guidance and oversight (sometimes through daily check-ins)
- Playbook Interpretation and Development: Interpreting marketing playbooks from other regions (eg. the US team) and adapting for regional/local markets when an established playbook does not exist (eg. developers in India)
- Localization Compliance: Deliver validated, market-ready design files for Japan, Australia, and Indonesia that pass local cultural review without causing in-market launch delays.
- AI Experimentation & Production: Utilize Google AI tools (AI Studio, VEO, Flow, NotebookLM) to create and deliver innovative content design and visual prototypes that stay true to the Brand.
- Internal Collaboration: Working collaboratively and in the open with a small and nimble team, pushing the boundaries of what's possible while staying on-brand.
Qualifications:
- 10-15+ years of experience in direct marketing/advertising/design, with a background in both Art Direction and Design, within the JAPAC region is a must.
- Award winning creative pedigree, ideally split between top-tier creative agencies and corporate experiences. DMA, Effie, D&AD or similar effectiveness awards a bonus.
- Seasoned in the B2B tech space. Saas or tech startup experience is very helpful. Ideally has also worked on lifestyle or experience focused brands.
- A deep understanding and appreciation of direct mail, direct marketing, and concept driven high touch experiences.
- Experienced in executing across platforms (web, event, digital, social content, ATL)
- Well-developed concepting, strategic, and hands on craft execution skills, demonstrated through a well composed portfolio website.
- Can flex between Art Direction and Design, and execute diverse design asks grounded in strategic business logic.
- Willing to roll up your sleeves and do production work, as needed (e.g. resizing banners, making minor changes).
- Ability to digest global brand guidelines and US-based playbooks, then adapt them for regional and local markets.
- Technical Skills: Highly proficient with industry-standard design tools and practices, i.e. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe After Effects. Must be able to read and decipher Figma files (but will not build files & UI in Figma). Video editing and animation experience is a plus.
- Must be able to understand complex and constantly changing narratives.
