Architectural Coordinator is responsible for supporting the architectural design and construction process by coordinating drawings, consultants, technical documentation, and site activities. The role ensures that architectural designs are properly integrated with structural, MEP, and other disciplines while maintaining quality, timelines, and compliance with regulations.
Job Responsibilities
1. Design Coordination
Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, MEP, and other consultants.
Review and resolve design conflicts through interdisciplinary coordination.
Ensure consistency between concept, schematic, detailed, and construction drawings.
Conduct coordination meetings and document outcomes.
2. Documentation & Drawings
Prepare and review architectural drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, local codes, and standards.
Manage revisions and maintain drawing registers.
Support preparation of tender and construction documentation.
3. Site Coordination
Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to clarify drawings and design intent.
Conduct site inspections to ensure work aligns with approved drawings.
Monitor progress and report design-related issues.
Assist in resolving site technical challenges.
4. Quality & Compliance
Ensure architectural works meet quality standards.
Coordinate approvals with authorities when required.
Support implementation of health, safety, and environmental requirements.
5. Communication & Reporting
Act as a link between architects, engineers, contractors, and clients.
Prepare progress reports and coordination updates.
Track RFIs (Requests for Information) and submittals.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or related field.
3-7 years of experience in architectural coordination or construction projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office.
Knowledge of building codes and construction processes.
Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in large-scale commercial or residential projects.
Knowledge of BIM coordination processes.
Professional licensure or working toward architectural registration.
