Job Description
The Arborist will be responsible for the assessment, maintenance, and management of trees within our landscape projects, ensuring the health, safety, and sustainability of urban greenery. You will work closely with the Landscape Manager to deliver professional arboriculture services in compliance with Singapore's WSH guidelines and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tree Assessment & Inspection: Conduct regular inspections and health assessments of trees to identify risks, diseases, and structural issues.
- Tree Maintenance: Carry out pruning, removal, bracing, and other arboriculture practices using safe and approved methods.
- WSH Compliance: Ensure all arboriculture work is performed in strict adherence to WSH guidelines, including the use of PPE, safe climbing practices, and risk management procedures.
- Tree Inventory & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of tree locations, health status, maintenance activities, and recommendations for future actions.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to tree-related emergencies such as fallen trees or hazardous limbs, providing expert advice and action to mitigate risks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Landscape Manager, Horticulturist, and other team members to plan and implement tree care programmes.
- Client and Regulatory Liaison: Provide expert advice to clients and authorities on tree preservation, conservation, and legal requirements.
- Training & Development: Mentor and train junior staff on arboriculture best practices and WSH requirements.
Job Requirements
- Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Arboriculture, Horticulture, or related field.
- Certification: ISA Certified Arborist or equivalent is required WSQ certification in Landscape Operations or Arboriculture is an advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in arboriculture or tree care, preferably within Singapore.
- WSH Knowledge: Strong understanding of Singapore's WSH guidelines and safe work practices for tree care.
