Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end technical delivery of CEW initiatives, from pre project inception through post go live support, ensuring predictable, high quality outcomes.
- Provide hands on technical leadership across delivery teams, acting as an escalation point for design, implementation, and engineering decisions.
- Partner closely with business stakeholders, architects, and product owners to shape solution designs that meet functional and non functional requirements.
- Lead and govern delivery using a hybrid Agile model, combining Scrum/Scaled Agile practices with appropriate traditional controls for regulatory and enterprise needs.
- Drive engineering execution across multiple streams, ensuring effective sequencing of work, management of cross system dependencies, and timely delivery.
- Own technical delivery planning, including scope definition, estimation, dependency analysis, environment readiness, and release planning.
- Proactively identify, manage, and escalate technical, delivery, and operational risks, ensuring visibility in appropriate governance forums.
- Ensure delivery adheres to the Bank's software development, security, DevSecOps, and release management standards.
- Maintain accountability for all delivery milestones, quality gates, and compliance checkpoints, ensuring audit and regulatory readiness.
- Lead solution design and implementation discussions, including APIs, integrations, and microservices, ensuring scalability, security, and resilience.
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices, including:
- Code and design reviews
- Automated testing and quality gates
- CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Ensure quality-first engineering by embedding testing, security, and performance considerations early in the development lifecycle.
- Monitor delivery health using data-driven metrics such as velocity, cycle time, defect trends, environment stability, and release success rates.
- Actively participate in Scrum of Scrums and cross stream technical forums to resolve dependencies and alignment issues across teams.
- Lead regular delivery and engineering cadences (daily stand ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, weekly delivery checkpoints) and track actions to closure.
- Own and govern change management, ensuring controlled scope evolution while safeguarding delivery commitments and technical integrity.
- During test and stabilization phases, actively drive defect resolution, managing SLA adherence, defect density, and re open rates.
- Ensure production readiness, including deployment planning, operational handover, monitoring, and support models.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, inclusiveness, and continuous improvement, encouraging proactive participation and ownership within teams.
- Lead and contribute to cross team improvement initiatives across Agile delivery, DevSecOps tooling, architecture standards, delivery governance, and the Bank's System Development Methodology (SDM).
Requirements:
. Minimum 12 years of experience delivering complex, enterprise-scale digital platforms, with a strong blend of software engineering and delivery leadership.
. 5+ years of experience leading large-scale, multi-stream engineering programs using API-first and microservices architectures.
. Strong hands-on background in software development, with the ability to:
o Review code and design decisions
o Guide teams on implementation approaches and technical trade-offs
. Proven experience owning end-to-end technical delivery, including:
o Solution design and system integration
o Non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability, resilience)
o Production readiness and operational stability
. Practical expertise with modern engineering ecosystems including:
o RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures
o CI/CD pipelines and build automation
. Strong understanding of DevSecOps practices, including:
o Automated testing and quality gates
o Secure coding and vulnerability management
o Release orchestration and deployment strategies
. Experience defining and enforcing engineering quality standards ,including:
o Code reviews and design reviews
o Automated test coverage and defect prevention
o Management of technical debt and refactoring strategies
. Demonstrated ability to lead distributed engineering teams(onsite/offshore), fostering ownership, accountability, and technical excellence.
. Strong delivery governance and execution skills, including:
o Dependency and risk management across systems
o Change management and release governance
o Metrics-driven delivery (velocity, cycle time, defect trends)
. Ability to balance technical decision-making with delivery pressures,operating effectively under aggressive timelines and regulatory constraints.
. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical risks and options into business outcomes.
Prior experience delivering
banking or financial services platforms
(e.g., customer onboarding, payments, middleware, core integrations) is highly desirable.
