Application Support Engineer (Production Support)

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Location: Changi , Singapore

Employment Type: Contract

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to support business-critical applications for our client, a leading financial institution in Singapore. The role will focus on production support, incident troubleshooting, application monitoring and working closely with technical and business teams to ensure system stability and timely resolution of issues.

Responsibilities

Provide L1/L2 production and application support for business-critical applications.
Investigate production incidents, system alerts and user-reported issues.
Perform initial troubleshooting through application logs, monitoring dashboards and database queries.
Monitor and analyse application logs using tools such as Kibana, Grafana, Splunk or similar.
Perform SQL queries on Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL or similar databases for investigation and troubleshooting.
Work closely with L3 support, development and infrastructure teams to resolve application issues.
Manage incidents and service requests and ensure timely resolution within agreed SLAs.
Support application releases, deployments and change activities.
Assist with CI/CD activities using Jenkins, Git or similar tools.
Support applications running on Linux/Unix environments.
Participate in root cause analysis for recurring production issues.
Maintain operational procedures and application support documentation.
Provide timely updates to business users and technology stakeholders during incident resolution.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
2-4 years of relevant experience in Application Support, Production Support, Site Reliability Engineering or a similar role.
Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix environments.
Good working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Experience in production incident troubleshooting and log analysis.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Kibana, Grafana, Splunk or equivalent.
Exposure to Jenkins, Git and CI/CD processes is advantageous.
Knowledge of Python, Java or Shell scripting would be beneficial.
Exposure to Kubernetes, container technologies or AWS would be an advantage.
Experience in banking or financial services is preferred but not mandatory.
Exposure to Equities, Trading or Capital Markets applications would be an added advantage.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
Able to work effectively with business users and cross-functional technology teams.
