We are seeking a highly motivated Application Support Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing L1/L2 support for business-critical applications, ensuring minimal downtime, and delivering an excellent support experience for users.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L1/L2 application support across multiple business applications.
- Respond, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues within agreed SLAs.
- Perform data patching and data retrieval as required.
- Liaise with third-party vendors to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or development teams when necessary.
- Conduct root cause analysis and prepare detailed incident reports.
- Document recurring issues and workarounds in the internal knowledge base to improve efficiency.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in application support or a similar role.
- Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with AI tools that can assist in issue resolution and productivity improvement.
- Basic Knowledge of modern frontend and backend frameworks.
- Proficiency in SQL scripting, bash scripting, and automation tools.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related services.
- Basic understanding of networking fundamentals(DNS, load balancing, firewalls, proxies, etc.).
- Basic understanding of middleware technologies (e.g., message brokers, API gateways, background job processors).
- Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Sentry, New Relic, Crashlytics, etc).
- Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, and change management).
Advantegeous Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of Ruby on Rails.
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, and React Native.
- Experience with middleware technologies (e.g., message brokers, API gateways, background job processors).
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, proxies, etc.).
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
