Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer with strong database administration expertise to take ownership of critical enterprise applications and infrastructure. This role requires a versatile technical professional capable of supporting multi-platform environments while ensuring high availability, security compliance, and operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities
Application & Infrastructure Management
- Take full ownership of multiple enterprise application products including WebSphere, IBM MQ, QlikSense, SharePoint, and Pega platforms
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize IT systems and application assets throughout their lifecycle
- Perform OS-level and application-level patching across Windows and Unix/Linux environments
- Implement and manage operational housekeeping, archival processes, and backup/recovery procedures
Database Administration
- Administer and maintain Oracle 19c and MS SQL Server database environments
- Monitor database performance and optimize using Oracle AWR reports
- Implement and manage Oracle Golden Gate (OGG) replication solutions
- Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
Architecture & Integration Support
- Participate in application architecture design sessions with development teams
- Provide technical input on integration points including web services, IBM MQ interfaces, and SFTP connectivity
- Support the design, setup, and configuration of fault-tolerant and highly available systems
- Understand and support enterprise 3-tier architecture implementations
Security & Compliance
- Implement government-level security hardening standards and best practices
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation activities
- Maintain security posture across all managed systems and applications
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and procedures
Operational Support
- Troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure-related problems
- Provide onsite support during critical incidents, including after-hours availability
- Define and implement operational processes and standard operating procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues efficiently
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Oracle 19c database administration
- Proficiency in Windows and Unix/Linux server administration
- Strong understanding of enterprise 3-tier architecture
- Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting capabilities
- Experience designing and configuring fault-tolerant, highly available systems
- Familiarity with government-level security concepts, hardening techniques, and vulnerability assessment

- Understanding of web application architecture from end-user interaction to backend systems
- Experience with IT security hardening and vulnerability assessment tools
