Application / Product Design Engineer (Oil & Gas)

Our client, an established oilfield equipment and engineering company, is seeking an Application Engineer to develop and customise wellhead and Christmas tree solutions for oil and gas applications. The role will support projects from initial technical evaluation and product design through manufacturing, testing and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and customise wellhead and Christmas tree equipment based on customer and project requirements.
• Translate operating conditions and technical specifications into practical engineering solutions.
• Prepare 2D/3D models, engineering drawings, bills of materials and supporting documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations relating to pressure, loading, materials and dimensional tolerances.
• Ensure designs comply with API 6A, applicable industry standards and customer specifications.
• Lead design reviews and support technical evaluations for new or modified products.
• Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain teams throughout project execution.
• Support product qualification, testing and resolution of design or manufacturing issues.
• Provide technical input for customer enquiries, tender submissions and after-sales support.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Ideally at least 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in the design of wellheads, Christmas trees, pressure-control equipment or similar oilfield products.
• Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD software and the preparation of detailed engineering drawings.
• Good knowledge of API 6A, engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
