Application Lead | Enterprise Applications & Digital Transformation | 10+ Years Experience

About the opportunity

Our client is seeking an Application Lead to drive its enterprise application strategy and digital transformation. You will lead the Digital Business Partner and Software Engineering teams, ensuring technology investments deliver measurable business value.

Key responsibilities

• Own the enterprise application portfolio and roadmap across business, operational and customer-facing platforms.
• Align application priorities with business strategy, leading modernisation, optimisation and lifecycle planning.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery, including scope, budgets, timelines, risks, adoption and ongoing support.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritise initiatives and improve user experience.
• Lead and develop both teams, strengthening delivery discipline, engineering standards and accountability.
• Drive integration and innovation using cloud, APIs, automation, AI/ML and data platforms.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable and maintainable.
• Manage vendors and delivery partners, providing clear recommendations and portfolio updates to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years experience in application management, technology delivery, digital products or business systems.
• At least 5 years leadership experience managing technology, application delivery, product or business partnering teams.
• Proven success delivering enterprise application roadmaps and transformation initiatives.
• Experience with both commercial off-the-shelf and custom-built applications.
• Strong understanding of cloud, integration, data platforms, automation and AI/ML.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, vendor management and executive communication skills.
