Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Note: This role can be based in either Singapore or Bangkok, Thailand.

Purpose Of Position

To provide comprehensive local support for application engineering and implementation of Corning solutions to key hyperscale customers in Thailand. To build deep local relationships with key project stakeholders which include telecom design consultants, network installers, multi-tenant data center (MTDC) operators, main contractors and channel distribution partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Implementation
• Support design and implementation of Corning solutions for AI-ready data center infrastructure, including high-density optical connectivity for compute, network, and interconnect environments.
• Drive early engagement with hyperscale customers to secure Corning specifications in AI data center designs and implementation standards.
• Translate customer technical requirements into scalable, repeatable deployment solutions for hyperscale AI programs.
• Technical Support & Engineering
• Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned Hyperscale DC sites. Provide technical & engineering support to global / regional account teams to ensure that all technical requirements are fulfilled
• Facilitate field trials and define criteria for successful trials. Track and forecast customer timing for acquisition and deployment.
• Provide technical & engineering support to customers during implementation and deployment phases
• Sales & Pre-Sales Support
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with customers, network installers, telecom consultants, and integrators to deliver project success
• Provide recommendations for passive optical connectivity design and new innovations tailored to meet specific customer needs in dealing with complex technical challenges across various data center networking applications
• Assist with the review of technical specifications and compliance, BOM development for bids and tenders
• Market Analysis & Strategy
• Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and requirements for AI data center networking in APAC market
• Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities to build network infrastructure at scale
• Contribute to the development of the strategies to expand Corning's demand position (CDP) in APAC market
• Collaboration & Training
• Train Corning network preferred installers (NPIs) on network design, installation, and deployment practices, in accordance to the hyperscale customer requirements.
• Share implementation best practices, lessons learned, and troubleshooting knowledge across global / regional support and sales teams.
  
  

Travel Required

• Up to 30% travel within APAC.
  
  

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science field
  
  

Required Years And Area Of Expertise

• 3–5 years of experience in data center infrastructure, application engineering, systems engineering, technical sales, project delivery, or deployment support
• Experience supporting hyperscale, cloud, or AI data center environments preferred
• Experience with optical connectivity, structured cabling, high-density network infrastructure, or data center deployment projects preferred
  
  

Required Skills

• Understanding of hyperscale and AI data center network architecture
• Knowledge of high-density fiber infrastructure and deployment practices
• Ability to support implementation, rollout, and issue resolution in fast-paced customer environments
• Strong capability to work across customer, sales, engineering, operations, and manufacturing teams
• Familiarity with GPU / AI cluster connectivity environments preferred
