Position: API BAU Support Engineer

Experience: 8-12 Years

Overview

We are seeking an experienced API BAU Support Engineer with strong expertise in Java backend development, microservices, cloud infrastructure, and API support operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, troubleshooting, and enhancing mission-critical APIs and backend services while ensuring high availability, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.

Technical Skills & Requirements

Core Backend Development

• 8-12 years of hands-on experience in Java Backend Development
• Strong expertise in Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3.x
• Solid experience in Microservices Architecture
• Extensive experience in REST API and GraphQL API Development
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and design patterns

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services:
• ECS
• EC2
• RDS
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Knowledge of cloud-native application development and deployment

DevOps & CI/CD

• Experience with GitLab CI/CD
• AWS CodeCommit
• AWS CodePipeline
• Automated deployment and release management experience
• Version control and branching strategies

Database & Monitoring

• Strong expertise in SQL and Oracle Databases
• Experience with Relational Database Design and Optimization
• Hands-on experience with Grafana Monitoring
• AWS CloudWatch monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting

Security & Integration

• Minimum 3 years of experience with Okta Authentication and Authorization
• Minimum 3 years of experience supporting MuleSoft API Integrations
• Understanding of API security, OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT

Key Responsibilities

• Provide BAU support for Java-based Microservices and APIs in production environments.
• Maintain high availability, stability, performance, and reliability of critical business applications.
• Design, develop, enhance, and support scalable backend services and APIs.
• Manage and support AWS infrastructure and cloud deployments.
• Monitor applications and infrastructure using Grafana and AWS CloudWatch.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents within defined SLAs.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless deployments.
• Support and troubleshoot Okta authentication and authorization integrations.
• Support MuleSoft APIs, middleware services, and integration workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production fixes and enhancements.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security policies, and performance best practices.
• Participate in incident management, change management, and release activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and system reliability.
