Job Description
Role Summary:
This Analyst / Associate role is based in Singapore within the Alternatives team under the Investment Group. The role will support Fullerton's direct private equity funds, including the Carbon Action Fund and Thai Private Equity Fund, across the full investment lifecycle—from origination and evaluation through execution, portfolio monitoring and exit analysis. Based in Singapore, the Associate will gain exposure to private equity investments across Asia and work closely with senior investment professionals, management teams, advisers and other stakeholders.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial, valuation and returns models to assess prospective investments and portfolio-company performance.
- Act as a key point of contact for assigned transactions, coordinating with senior team members and external advisers to drive evaluation and execution from initial assessment through completion.
- Conduct industry, market, company and competitor research to identify investment opportunities and evaluate investment theses.
- Prepare clear, well-supported investment analyses, investment committee papers, valuation materials and presentations.
- Support due diligence across relevant workstreams and participate in management, adviser and client meetings, negotiations and other transaction-related discussions.
- Monitor portfolio investments, including operating and financial performance, value-creation initiatives, governance matters and key risks; contribute to periodic portfolio reporting.
- Assess potential exit opportunities and support the analysis and execution of portfolio realisations.
Education qualification
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or a related discipline.
- A professional qualification such as CFA or CAIA, or a postgraduate degree, is an advantage.
Technical competencies
- Relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, M&A, venture capital or private equity.
- Sound understanding of private-market investments, transaction processes and valuation methodologies.
- Strong analytical, financial-modelling and valuation skills, with a high level of numeracy.
- Experience with financial and legal due diligence, and reviewing transaction documentation, is an advantage.
- Able to work independently, take ownership of deliverables and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Strong project-management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work on schedule.
- Clear and effective written, oral and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex investment issues concisely.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail and commercial judgement, with enthusiasm for working in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent written and spoken English is essential; knowledge of another Southeast Asian language is an advantage.
