AML Business Analyst

Role Summary

The Local AML Business Analyst acts as the bridge between Compliance, AML Operations, Product and Technology teams. The role ensures that business requirements, APAC screening policies, and country-specific regulatory expectations are accurately translated into functional specifications and delivered effectively across the client's sanctions screening landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and document requirements from Compliance, AML Operations and Sanctions teams for Watchlist Manager (WLM) and the Screening Engine.

• Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications (FSD), user journeys, process maps and watchlist governance frameworks.

• Coordinate UAT execution including scenario design, test scripting, data preparation and defect management.

• Track watchlist lifecycle updates and ensure SOPs for BAU teams remain current and compliant.

• Collaborate with domain SMEs and global teams to incorporate APAC-specific regulatory nuances and operational needs.

• Ensure mandatory governance controls-such as 4-eye checks, segregation of duties, and audit trail requirements-are incorporated into processes and documentation.

• Develop training materials, user manuals and UAT support artefacts for AML Operations teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5-8 years of AML Business Analysis experience within banking or financial institutions.

• Strong knowledge of sanctions screening workflows, case management and false-positive reduction approaches.

• Hands-on experience with FircoSoft list structures, WLM processes and watchlist governance controls.

• Good understanding of APAC compliance policies and country regulator expectations
